Coincidences ?

Atlas Copco was founded in 1873 to manufacture products for Sweden’s railways. For a few years, all looked promising for the young company.

However, a recession hit Sweden in the 1880s, bringing railroad construction to a halt and Atlas to its financial knees. Drastic measures were needed. Engineer Fr?nckel was succeeded by industrialist Oskar Lamm. New capital was injected from the Wallenberg family and the company changed its name to Nya Atlas (New Atlas). Production shifted to more advanced products, such as steam engines and boilers.

Steam fuelled the first industrial revolution.

Electricity accelerated the second one.

Computers are at the heart of the third and data is the source of the fourth.

So when Atlas Copco Rental re-enters the steam business with a complete range of mobile boilers that use all these technologies to ensure a sustainable future, it's safe to assume that a new revolution is underway!

When I was born in 1973, when Atlas Copco was already celebrating 100 years of success, I couldn't have imagined that years later I would be part of this homecoming. That's why I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Ray L?fgren and Andrew Walker for the smart move that started in 2018 with the acquisition of LTS France part of the Atlas Copco Group , followed by Powerhouse Boiler Equipment in 2019 and Eco Steam and Heating Solutions in 2021.

In 2023, we are at the start of a new era in temporary steam generation solutions, with ever greater flexibility, responsiveness, reliability and, above all, efficiency, making sustainability the best way to achieve our goals.

The Power Technique Business Area event took place from 6 to 9 June at a venue that couldn't have given me greater pleasure: the Steam Hotel in V?ster?s, Sweden. The Steam Hotel is a former power station that has been completely refurbished as a hotel, where the old installations, in particular the boilers, continue to energise the guests.

Thanks to Marco Gravina and Tim Last , I had the pleasure of presenting to all the Power Technique management team the first piece of the steam jigsaw, the 8T integrated mobile steam boiler, which brings together the years of experience gained in the various companies specialising in boiler hire within the group.

After good and very energizing presentations, I can really say that we are POWERED BY SUSTAINABILITY !
