In fact, they have arrived. Coinbase Verified Pools are now live, giving institutions compliant, efficient, and transparent access to onchain liquidity and DeFi yields. Crypto's enduring refrain can be sunset.

The Product and Tech
Institutions increasingly want to engage with DeFi but require compliant, transparent, and secure venues. With Verified Pools on Base, users can benefit from better transaction execution speed and lower costs on a compliant platform.
Coinbase built these pools on Uniswap v4 to offer better capital efficiency, lower gas costs, and customizable smart contract functionality through the use of hooks.
Users with the Coinbase Verification credential in their Coinbase Wallet, Prime Onchain Wallet, or other eligible third-party wallet can interact with Verified Pools.

Our Role
We provide recommendations to Coinbase to ensure Verified Pools remain competitive and healthy as TVL scales and adoption grows.
To remain competitive, we will regularly monitor these pools and make adjustments across several factors, including fee tiers, risk management, liquidity pool participation, market dynamics, and asset volatility. We also consider price discovery and trade execution efficiency.
As the pools grow and the range of assets expands, we will continue to provide Coinbase with regular parameter calibration recommendations and track performance across trading volume, fees, and volatility.
We're more than just advisors, we use Coinbase Institutional products ourselves, and in the past, we've supplied incentives to drive USDC, EURC, and cbBTC. We also utilize cbBTC in several of the vaults we curate across protocols.
