Cofounder Drama
It's the #1 or #2 killer of most startups in my opinion. I hear it from my gaming friends, I experience it at employers and I live it at my current studio. I have a custom of sharing my struggles and being transparent which helps me deal with them internally. It has passed my 1 Year Anniversary of starting Exedra and we've survived disagreements, layoffs, firings and I feel like the list keeps getting bigger. What I have learned through all these struggles is that at the end of the day your partners/cofounders are the most important asset to your company and usually you should let nothing stop you from keeping them.
Today, I am sad to share that one of my past cofounders is leaving us. After accepting a job elsewhere, he is now unable to touch anything game related. Before we effectively dissolved our previous company, he stuck right by me through almost everything. We cried, we fought and we created beautiful things that I will never forget. Thank you John for everything.
