Coffee at Kaffi

When I sent out my Colombo Coffee Awards, parts one and two, a few people reminded me that I’d missed Kaffi at Crescat. Guilty as charged. It is a minimum once-a-week coffee stop for Davo; my Aussie friend and me. Australians think they come from the coffee center of the world but not him. He is from Perth, not Melbourne.
Kaffi at Crescat Mall is a cute little friendly coffee cafe that has three areas; 10 seats inside, 10 in the mall and a bigger terrace on the roadside. What makes it special is the coffee and the staff, plus the pastries are massive. The coffee is from Whyte & Co. An Australian making fantastic coffee in Sri Lanka. There are six staff at Kaffi and they all have big smiles and great attitudes.
Davo and I sit in the mall seats, even when the mall is officially not open, e.g. before 9 AM. We sit like the two old white men in the Muppet show, in the elevated box. We are observing and whinging. In the show, the muppet's feet are nailed to the floor so they can stand but not escape.
After the coffee and staff, the highlight is the arrival of about twenty ladies working in two Nail Spa outlets with the same owner, some ten meters apart.
Kaffi is popular as it's chilled, with amazing coffee and great service from Shakir and the team.
Absolutely love your passion for uncovering the best coffee spots! ? As Helen Keller once said - Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much. Maybe a visit to Kaffi at Crescat with fellow coffee enthusiasts could brew up an unforgettable chapter for your Colombo Coffee Awards. ?? #DiscoverTogether #CoffeeJourney
