Good morning from the world of Pole Base, and welcome to another edition of Coffee & Concrete!

May your coffee be as strong as a Pole Base today - that's a minimum 28 day compressive strength, to be specific. My espresso pod stock has been replenished, as well as my will to live (if you know, you know).

Today I want to focus on Pole Bases used in arena and parking lot applications. As you can see from the above photo, Pole Base was selected as the site lighting solution for the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, MI. This project required a large number of bases for around the new arena, and in surrounding parking lots.

The 'Round Rusticated' base was selected for installation, and provided a seamless and structurally sound solution for site lighting.

The 'Round Rusticated' Pole Base is one of the most popular design options, as it offers versatility, and a visually appealing bevel that adds just a bit of character, while still blending in to the landscape.

Pole Base was a great fit for this project, as there were various styles of light poles and fixtures selected, which required specific base sizing, rebar specifications, bolt patterns and conduit. From the more utilitarian style pole and fixture you see in the photo above, to the decorative poles and lights you see in the header photo of this article, Pole Base provided a built-to-fit foundation for each light pole that the project owners could rely on for consistency and strength.
