Today, the spotlight is on? Andy Kantic , Threat Analyst Manager based in Adelaide, Australia. He has been at Cofense for a little over a year. Here's a look into his life in and outside of work!

Q) How would you describe your team at work? What is your favorite part about working with them?

The one thing I must commend about the teams I work with is the ability they have to knuckle down and get the work done when needed. The ability we have to come together and work through any new threats we see on a day-to-day basis is unlike anywhere I have worked before.

The PDC (Phishing Defense Centre) team will also never fail to make you laugh and ground you after an intense day of catching malware/phishing attacks. Everyone can wind down and relax even after the most intense days of stopping Threat actors.

I have worked in a whole variety of different fields with vastly different teams, but the PDC team here at Cofense is one of the best I’ve been a part of. They are also very welcoming when it comes to new employees and introducing them to the environment and role. Everyone is willing to lend a hand, no matter the problems we face, and provide personalized training in a field where we know one mistake could lead to a detrimental outcome.??

Q) What is the best vacation you have ever been on?

This vacation would have to be the only holiday where my partner and I had zero planning/pre-meditated thoughts. During the peaks of Covid when the world came to a halt and all international travel ceased, our trip to go overseas to Thailand was completely stopped in its tracks, along with all our excitement.

A couple of weeks later we found out that New Zealand was one of the only places still accepting tourists during all the chaos Covid had caused. From our initial idea of a holiday on warm summer days in Thailand to snowy mountains in New Zealand, we didn’t even think twice and headed straight there.

From traveling the whole country from top to bottom in a rented car, skiing the picturesque mountains of Queenstown in the peak of winter, and having some of the best food of our lives we could not have asked for a better vacation to break things up and enjoy what nature had to offer. New Zealand is one of the most beautiful countries anyone could visit, and if not for Covid we probably would have delayed this holiday for years, or even worse, not have ever gone to one of the most scenic countries in the world.
