Coding vs Selling

I know, you must be thinking, what the hell is that. No body every compared coding vs selling. So, let me give you the background of the same. Once, Ravikant said, if you are good at building something well or selling something well, then you would have a wonderful life above average compare to your peers. But if you could do both, then you are unstoppable. And that's where the magic is, hardly anyone thought of it, actually the problem to get that magic is understanding "Coding vs Selling". Both skill sets are like having opposite of traits. And hardly anyone experience it. As if you are a good coder, you will never think of selling, as you get good money being even an average coder. on the other hand, until you are an above average sales person, no-one even ready to pay you a penny, even to make a basic living you have to achieve some targets in sales. Coding is quite different even if you could built average things, you are paid well, and people will keep giving you chances, believing one day you will built better. So, the way dynamics play out, we hardly find people having both of these opposite trait skills. Industry actually doesn't produce these kind of Products.

At the same time, for some lucky chaps, things play out differently, How..? we don't know... But they love to code, and they love to sell. and there is where things become very different. At the beginning, they even won't understand what to do having multi-potentiality, as it's hard to find jobs like these. Hiring for a coder, is usually done by some senior coder, and for them to meeting someone like (Coder & Seller) is different, and the first feeling they get is it's hard to lead a person like this. and hiring for Sales, usually done my Sales head, who normally look for people hard working, persistent in approaching same people again and again, they hardly see there could be a different way something like "Easy Sell". Because the Easy Sell territory only visible to people who have lived both the worlds, I would rather say, living both the worlds...!

At the same time, things are changing very fast, the new world of SaaS Product is emerging. Believe it or not, only coders or only sellers, it's not for them at all... its' very hard for Only Coder to manage the right Use-cases for the Product, and its' very hard for Only seller to sell just being persistent or hard working, to get recurring income every month from a client, without living the Product inside out...

So, which side are you at...!

You are very much right.I observed that developers dont think of customer's pov while developing the product and sellers dont know much of technical stuff while selling the product to the potential customer.
