Coding across continents: Vention’s 7th global hackathon

When talented minds unite, innovation knows no bounds. Vention's 7th Global Hackathon was a perfect example, bringing together over 100 participants from eight countries. With 26 teams in action, the challenge was clear: develop AI-powered solutions to optimize internal operations and boost market competitiveness.

A global effort?

This year’s hackathon saw engineers coding around the clock, spanning five time zones, pushing boundaries, and fostering real-time collaboration. “Our team's ability to innovate and solve complex challenges in such a short time is inspiring," said Vention’s CEO and co-founder Sergei Kovalenko during the awards ceremony.

The 24-hour challenge, fittingly named "Internal improvement and market dominance," pushed teams to create breakthrough tools that would streamline processes and fuel innovation.

Rustam Levkovsky from Poland’s "Tech Debt" team revealed, “The 24 hours weren’t too challenging for development. The real difficulty came from our physical condition and the weather. There was a storm — heavy rain and strong winds. That was tough!”

Game-changing ideas

The ideas that emerged were nothing short of groundbreaking, tackling real operational issues and exploring fresh AI applications. From language assessment tools to enhancing pre-sales processes, the innovation on display was incredible. Our Georgian team wowed everyone with their “FeedAI” platform, automating feedback collection and analysis and turning raw input into actionable insights. Our team in Lithuania’s “EduTrack.AI” app aims to help AI specialists and beyond continue their professional development with personalized learning paths.

Navigating challenges like pros

Of course, innovation doesn’t come easy. Teams faced obstacles, from new AI technologies to tricky integrations. But resilience shined through. As Ihar Mikailau from Slovakia noted, “We hit a major integration issue just hours before the end, but we found a workaround from GitHub and pulled through.”

Solo and team innovation

It wasn’t just big teams stealing the spotlight — solo contributors were just as impressive. Aliaksandr Bahatka from “Ctrl+Alt+Delight” shared, “The biggest challenge was managing my time and energy. Sleep deprivation made it hard to stay focused as the hours passed.”

Poland’s “Codeless” team, despite having only one frontend developer, stood out for their adaptability. “We were learning on the go,” said captain Yulia Baranchuk . “I took care of business logic, Dzmitry managed both front and back ends, and Irene Belenkaya, coding for the first time, used ChatGPT to tackle the recording feature.”

And the winner is…

The top prize went to Lithuania’s “IPY” team for their game-changing EduTrack.AI app, which consolidated learning resources and provided personalized recommendations for AI specialists. Their solution not only earned them first place but embodied the innovative spirit that drives Vention’s global teams.

Team captain Daria Varabey shared: “Winning, especially among such strong teams, was unexpected and a huge achievement for us. Our team worked at an incredible pace, learning a lot about teamwork and problem-solving under pressure. I’m extremely proud of everyone’s dedication, and I believe this is just the start of what we can accomplish together.”

The hackathon’s success is a testament to the power of collaboration, creativity, and resilience at Vention – showcasing our commitment to pushing the boundaries of technology for both our internal growth and the success of our clients.

What an impressive initiative! ???? The collaboration among over 100 participants from 8 countries in just 24 hours showcases the incredible potential of AI and teamwork. It’s inspiring to see how diverse minds can come together to innovate and enhance operations. Looking forward to seeing the impactful solutions developed for Vention! Great job to everyone involved.

Team, that was amazing! :)
