CodeImpact Holiday Tech Mentorship Program is here this November
CodeImpact
Empowering the next generation workforce with industry-aligned tech skills and personalised mentorship.
Our holiday program that kicks off this 21st of November is going to be different and this is because of the experiences we have had running previous cohorts. Our unique approach to learning which is outcome based we believe is the best approach to learning.
We shall run hybrid lessons(both off and online), but the sessions will be predominantly online with some physical sessions. Our physical sessions will be conducted in partnership with our partner UICT Innovation hub.
What will make this cohort different?
The physical sessions will focus on skills that are usually ignored for-example soft skills like professional writing, receiving and giving ASK(Actionable Specific and Kind) feedback, responsible use of the internet(social media), building a professional online presence and many others.
Our experience as curriculum developers for tech skilling startups in software engineering(Stutern and KanzuCode) also gives us an edge to be able to deliver a comprehensive outcome based curricula to our learners.
Our government partner UICT innovation hub who have been kind enough to host our physical sessions through their networks will connect the learners to industry experts who will be available to mentor them.
How can your child be a part of this?
We kick off our sessions on the 21st of November 2022 and P7 Vacists especially are invited to take part in this. Register here to book your slot, and we look forward to learning and growing together. After you have registered someone will reach out to you.

What are the expected outcomes?
All students who finish the 8-week program will receive a freecodecamp certificate which is a world renown software engineering certification and they will also have a chance to join our developer community for life.
Our learning is project-based therefore all students will work on a capstone project which will be a website that is hosted live on the internet.
Why seek a career in software engineering?
A career in software engineering is the most sought out career and getting their is not an easy road but starting early and growing within the tech ecosystem will only make it easier.
The fact that most of the skills acquired in software engineering are transferable means you can work for anyone from anywhere. The digital economy has afforded us an opportunity to not be limited by our geographical area but you need the skills to be able to take part in it.
Our work is to show you the path and the rest is up to you to follow the process, be consistent and utilise all the support that we shall offer in this cohort. See you all on the 21st November 2022 at the UICT Innovation hub in Nakawa for the orientation session.
