Code Clan Week 11

Code Clan Week 11

Im going to say this every week now, sorry(not sorry). I CANT BELIEVE I'M ON WEEK 11!!! It feels like i've went from week 6 to week 11 in the blink of an eye and to be honest most of my cohort think the same! Its absolutely flew in.

Im going to say i'm getting comfortable in the unknown zone even though it's super exhausting i'm not suffering from imposter syndrome as much anymore (hey, give me a break) although it does pop up every so often, its not as overwhelming.

Welcome to Java!!!

Originally I thought I was going to hate Java and how strict it was, but actually... I really enjoy it, or have been so far (theres still time lol). This week is just really the basics of what we've done previously. A string is always a string... its just different syntax. Day 1 was a bit of a disaster but thats only because I had a few set up issues but day2/3 learning about hashmaps, array lists using intelliJ has actually been quite nice. Believe it or not i've come to enjoy TDD... I can actually look back and see the face of my week 3 self refusing to believe it but here I am week 11 enjoying testing my code. and as if i'm not glutton for punishment Ive also looked at code in C#.

the infamous 'hello world' is always an indicator of how different the languages are.. or the same.

see above the difference between C# and Java!

I quite like getting stuck and reading up different ways on how to do things #thanksGoogle #thanksStackOverflow. Obviously if i'm completely stuck I get help but working on a problem is something I really enjoy.

Ive really enjoyed my first week using Java which I am really surprised at! it's obviously only the beginning but I am looking forward to what the remainder of the course has in store... on to week 12!

Job Hunt Continues

Even though i'm still learning (i finish less than a month away eek), Ive started to look to possible employers so if anyone is looking to hire and support a Junior Developer then look no further here I am :) or if you know of anyone looking cake/coffee is on me :)!

Once you get through make a post to query for a junior developer job and I will forward to off to my network if you like, but I mainly have folks in USA and Canada in my network, how would you feel about relocating?
