I've had several calls this week on what people are seeing in this market. Leading into Christmas Cocoa bean hit a historical high sending prices to be very volatile. Prices settled a bit but are still at a very high level.?
?We are going to see lows in production in the beginning?of 2025. The FTL customers that have not booked are going to be in some trouble getting product. Non Contracted customers need to be looking at Q2 and beyond at this point.??
?Cocoa Producing Countries: Effects
The International Cocoa Association (ICCO) has revised its global cocoa deficit estimate for the 2023/24? season to -478,000 tons, up from -462,000 tons projected in May, marking the largest deficit in over 60? years. Additionally, ICCO lowered its cocoa production estimate for 2023/24 to 4.380 million tons, down? from 4.461 million tons in May, a 13.1% decline compared to the same period last season. Furthermore,? ICCO forecasted a global cocoa stocks-to-grindings ratio of 27% for 2023/24, the lowest in 46 years.?
?With all the indications Cocoa is going to see prices rise in Q1 and leading into Q2.?
