Collaborations are Key for Growing Brand Awareness

Carrie Murray is the CEO of the Los Angeles based BRA Network, a thriving community of established and progressing women entrepreneurs around the world. BRA stands for Business Relationship Alliance and is the ultimate online & live action resource for female entrepreneurs to grow their businesses. Carrie has a background in social work, focused on empowering victims of domestic violence to reclaim their lives, as well as a 14-year career legacy in education. The BRA Network give women access to the resources they need to uplift their business - from courses to a directory to providing women a platform to teach what they know to other women in their start-up stages.


It’s no surprise to discover the natural alignment between the BRA Network and the female founders of Badassery Magazine, Samantha Parker & Kathy Rasmussen. They all see with crystal clarity the importance in empowering and supporting women on their path and rise to success through collaboration and community building.


On August 23rd, The BRA Network invited women business owners to a night of networking and moderated discussion on how to create a “flourishing community of empowered women across the world”. Samantha and Kathy were the evenings anticipated golden keynote guest speakers. This was night #1 of the Badassery Mag takeover of Los Angeles, CA, in support of their new masterminded book/workbook Badassery Style Community: A Step-By-Step Guide to Party Planning Your Way to an Ultra Engaged Community.


The BRA Network hosts a quarterly series called, “Cocktails and Conversation,” inviting prominent women entrepreneurs known for “disrupting” the workplace with their bold new ideas and fashion trends to meet women who are making a difference in their own communities through social and environmental justice campaigns.


Conversation and Cocktails took place in the backyard of Carrie Murray’s home on a warm summer evening. Women cozied up by the fire pit and listened attentively to the story behind the start of Badassery Magazine. Carrie moderated conversation around one of the books pearls of wisdom - speaking to the importance of community not only for a woman’s emotional and spiritual health and balance, but for her business to grow successfully and in alignment with her personal goals. Concluding the interview was a juicy and soul-bearing Q&A, where lucky BRA Network members had the chance to ask Samantha and Kathy personal questions about their own businesses and receive real time advice. No question was left unanswered and at one point during the night when Samantha asked everyone to take out their phones and join the We Are Badassery Facebook group, not a phone was left unlit as each woman made the commitment to join without hesitation.


No gathering of women is complete without tasty treats and bubbles! All were delighted to nibble on mini sweetcakes by event sponsor Sugar Alkymi and sip on florally feminine- inspired whiskey cocktails in a fully stocked bar by Kikori Whiskey. For those not on the whisky tip, sumptuous glasses of almond wine and Black Forest Port provided by Canyon Crest Winery in Riverside, California, were served with gusto.


Each ticket to Conversations & Cocktails included a copy of Badassery Mag’s book and a swag bag full of goodies; including Gracie Stone Beauty anti-aging serum, a $200 gift certificate for graphic design work by bevokul.com and Boss Babe Notebooks provided by InspiHER SUCCESS. 


The collaboration between female communities are the beginning of a new paradigm where women come together to shift from competition consciousness to abundance consciousness, taking on the meaning behind the mantra: together we rise.
