The Cock, The Chords, & The BBB

The Cock, The Chords, & The BBB

This week, I visit with some old bourbon buddies, check into whiskey shenanigans, and remember some late night sessions with an unusually named hooch.

Good times...

Three Chord Bourbon on Zoom

I've been a fan of Three Chord for a while; I introduce it to freinds in Wisconsin well before it was available and once it was, the bourbon club loved it.

At one point, we sold more Three Chord than anyone else in the state - cases.

I was able to sit in on a little Zoom meeting with the founder and some employees of the organization.

Music, Bourbon and Human experiences.

Gotta love it.

BBB issues warning about bogus bourbon sites

"I'm shocked. Shocked to see fraud in the whiskey industry."

In each case where the consumer made a purchase, the product was not received.

Go figure.

The Mount Rushmore of Rye, According to 7 Whiskey Experts

I love rye. High proof high, to be more specific. I don't believe in 'experts'. Nor do I think any dram over 12 years is anything more than a 'sliver-bomb'.

But hey, here are some opinions about the "best" ryes in the known universe.

Brace yourself, one is 23 years old.

Jim Gaffigan on being a bourbon aficionado

Funny man likes bourbon creates schtick. I'm not sure if he is a proponent or victim.

Regardless, or irregardless, (yes, it is a word) any press is good press, right?

Chicken Cock Bourbon

One of the more popular bourbons at a bar I helped manage was Chicken Cock - purely because of the name. Patrons loved ordering it - loudly.

The trademark has shifted to new owners since then; it seems to have taken on a more highbrow persona.

Huh.
