The Cobbler's Shoes
It's been about a week since we launched the new bits.co website. I'm really pleased with the feedback we've received so far. Moreso, I'm super impressed by what the team were able to pull off with fairly demanding criteria and a constant juggle between paying client work and a focus on honing our own presence.
This was the first of our own websites where I truly put on the hat of "client", rather than trying to be super involved within the nuts and bolts. This approach gave me an opportunity to look at our business through a different lens. Stepping back to identify the issue and short-comings of our previous website, goals and metrics desired with the new, I then put my full trust in the experts to really come up with a solution that would truly help us to overcome our business' online hurdles.
I'm pleased to say that, only a week after a pretty low-key relaunch, we're already seeing significant traction in areas that we expected it to take months to realize. Services that we'd been offering for years, but poorly advertising, have been well received from both colleagues and existing clientele.
It's really hard to both practice what you preach and take the time to truly step back from the day to day operations of your business to really focus on yourself. We tend to get caught up so much in the day to day that we fail to recognize where the set-backs lay that are stopping your business to propel to the next level. As the old adage says, "treat yo self".
At the end of the day, working with experts to help understand what's holding you back and allowing (dare I say, trusting) them to come up with the right solution can have substantial impact on your business. It's obviously much too early to hang the Mission Accomplished banner, but I'm confident that we now have the right building blocks in place to shed the right light on the team and our capabilities.
The cobbler's shoes are looking pretty snazzy.

8 年Great job bitsies. I always refereed to my own site for freelance as the carpenter's kitchen. I know it's hard to build something for yourself when there are a lot of paying projects on the table.

8 年The new site looks fantastic but more so it embodies the kind of creative team that bits.co is. So glad to be working with the bits.co team in creating a platform to connect Students2Mentors (pun intended!). They care about the clients they work with and quality and creativity are their keystones in my opinion. You guys and gals rock!
