Cobb Visited Children with Beacon Of Love in China

On December 14, Cobb Vantress visited children with congenital heart disease at the Shanghai Children’s Hospital together with Beacon Of Love.? Six children came from Guizou, one child came from Yunnan, and one child from Tibet.?

Beacon Of Love is a friendly and fun volunteer group providing financial assistance to life-saving heart surgeries of hundreds of children with Congenital Heart Disease across China. ?

Beacon Of Love is thankful for the continued support of Cobb Vantress to this charitable cause in saving lives of children with congenital heart disease (CHD).?

This girl, one year and 11 months from Guizhou, is confirmed with CHD during a fever when she was one year old.? This girl is also confirmed with Down’s Syndrome.

This is a family from Tibet.? The 8 month-old baby boy needed badly an emergency surgery.? They took the train ride for 3 days to Shanghai. They were accompanied by an assistant doctor along the trip, from Tibet to get to Shanghai Children’s Hospital.?

Today, the baby boy received successful heart surgery and doing well today.? The doctor today confirmed that he needed another surgery at the age of three.? The second surgery can be done at the same hospital.?

They will take the train again going home.? This time will be a joyful ride going back to their hometown.?

These two families from Guizhou with girls, 2.5 years old and 2 years old respectively, are presently having fever due to mycoplasma infection.? The surgery will be delayed until the girls recover from the illness.?

This girl, 7 years old from Guizhou, is here for her second heart surgery.? She received her first surgery in 2017 in the same hospital. The doctor explained that ,as the girl grew, the valve of her heart needed medical surgery to help it open more to support her growth development.?

This girl, 6 years old from Guizhou, was confirmed by local hospital in their hometown with CHD.? Doctor’s recommendation was to monitor her situation and see if it will improve after a few years.? As she was growing up, her condition did not get better. But the good news is that, together with her parents, she is in Shanghai today to receive her life-saving heart surgery.

This boy, 5 years old from Guizhou, was confirmed with CHD when he got fever at 2 years old. Before coming to Shanghai, the parents brought him to a hospital in ChongQing for treatment, but, they were referred to Shanghai Children’s Hospital for heart surgery.?

This girl, 5 months old baby girl from Yunnan, went for medical examination check with the parents at the time of our visit. We hope she will like the gifts we brought with us for her.?
