Coating OPV Application System
Coating OPV provide shiny and glossy finishes to fixture surfaces. Varnishes also produce a semi-gloss or satin sheen finish. The abbreviation “OPV” stands for “overprint varnish.” This term is commonly used in the packaging industry in association with flexible packaging.
Application System on OPV Coating.
Dampening System, one of printing machine company from Europe started to applying OPV via dampening system years ago and then give up on this idea. the way from the coating pan to a printing plate and the on to the substrate was to far / long. Thw varnish splashes and skinning / dry on its way to the printing substrate.
Inking Unit, Water-based varnish can be processed in the inking unit, however, this system poses of problems and is not recommended.
Coating Unit, (2 roller system), These units can be used for all solid / block coating application.
Coating Unit (Chambered doctor blade), Special OPV like pearl, metallic varnish and fine type can only be achieved through the exact dosage offered by a chambered doctor blade system.
What's great about surface coating is that it works wonders for chemical resistance. By coating a OPV on your substrate, you minimize its exposure to humidity and oxygen, which helps the printing material better Shelf life.
Hope these are useful to you.
