A Good Casting Parts Supplier: Coating and Ceramic Shell is important.

As mentioned earlier on one of my post, ceramic shell can be the key quality factor to your product. The coating and dipping are all started from applying the fire resistance slurry material to the ceramic shell then stucco coating as well. The normal standard is to repeated 5 - 10 times till it reach the thickness as desired.

In J-Cast Precision Metal, to keep the best quality for our customer, the first layer slurry coating are normally more sticky. then the second layer will be less sticky, but better permeable abilities. Both slurry and stucco coating thickness and the layers are depends on the product structure and size. So that's why many samples have to be made to get the best quality before we put into large volume production.

The coating area design is also important to keep your employees high efficiency since each individual layer has to be completely dry before applying the next layer. So J-Cast has designed few ways to avoid such human error.

One other thing that most of the foundry is using, are the robotic arm which is also equipped in J-Cast. This is to keep the quality since human hands might cause error due to fatigue work or having a bad day. So this device is doing a very good job in supporting our work.

As said, either coating must be very careful. A good ceramic shell, the surface should look evenness and the better material it used, it should look most likely white color or closer. This will determine the possibility of final product quality. Bad ceramic shell might cause crack during the shell heating, and leakrun. The worse one is the metal product can find a crack line, means it has to be redone.
