There may be times in your professional journey when you will be asked to take on a leadership role, which will increase your level of influence. Indeed, whether you are leading a meeting, a conference, a project, a team or a department, you might consider identifying with or fully embracing a well-defined leadership style.
Most professionals develop their own leadership style based on factors such as experience and personality, as well as the unique needs of their company and its organizational culture. While every leader is different, there is a commonly used leadership style in the workplace, also in various more or less professional ecosystems.
In this article, I introduce Coaching Leadership , which is one of the most common, useful and appropriate leadership styles to help you determine if this leadership style is right for you.
Why develop a leadership style?
In a survey conducted by Indeed, 55% of employers said that asking about leadership skills in an interview was the most accurate assessment of a candidate's ability to succeed in a position.
The more you develop your leadership skills, the more you have the ability to use different processes and methods to achieve your employer's goals, which is necessary to meet the needs of your collaborators.
Leadership through coaching
A coaching leader is a person who is able to quickly recognize the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats, needs and motivations of his or her team members in order to maintain professional balance in the ranks.
This type of leader provides great assistance to his or her team members, enabling them to set SMART goals.
This type of help provides regular feedback on challenging projects to sustain their growth. They know how to set clear expectations and create a positive and motivating environment.

The leadership style of the coach is one of the most beneficial for both employers and employees. It is also one of the least practiced styles, in my opinion because it takes more time and action than other leadership styles.
Coaching leadership is positive in nature and promotes the development of new skills, freedom of opinion and thought, empowerment of individuals, re-evaluation of organizational goals. Leaders who teach are called motivators or coaches.
Of course, this style of leadership has its advantages, but its application takes more time because it requires individual exchanges with partners and collaborators, which can be difficult to obtain in a pressured ecosystem where deadlines are tight.
Need to deepen your knowledge of coaching leadership? I highly recommend this book by Christine Wahl , which has been invaluable to me in refining my strategies and gaining more practical knowledge in this leadership style.
Happy reading!
