Today , in one of the Webinar I attended through People Matters is really interesting & impressive. Coaching has an important aspect of communication and effective questioning associated with it . We had a question, related to look into how either internal or external coaches are of help to the organization.
Though I have a keenness to understand this concept of coaching, so my interest of growth as a coach is innate. Since I commenced, my job more than a decade back I got this professional comment that I counsel well . While pursuing psychology, I found this area to be interesting that you empathize and try and understand about the problem areas and try to provide a solution to the person . Somehow this interest of knowing people, bought me in HR from day one of my career. Communication , Listening, Reflecting to similar situations and asking questions are the basic characteristics of Coaching, which I feel is very similar to what we all want.
Coach is someone who is like a safe deposit , we safely submit and confess both, bright, grey and dark areas to our coach and which are not limited to only professional or personal contexts. All of us want to be listened with patience, as all the while we cannot reflect our thoughts the way it should be, so a space where we can dump our brain and heart is really necessary .
Counselling & Coaching are not much different , only apart from few technical differences which claim the discrimination between the professional performance and the emotional hazards of an individual. Both the terms are used under different contexts so may be . But if I get habitual to address to issues and be an ear to problems, I , thus get habituated to learn coaching practices .
For me coaching is a practice where I help anyone to get rid of the pain areas , by understanding their gaps and address to them. It is not going to be an easy pass through , but to help a single person even to overcome the dark end and shine bright is really a noble task . Lets see if I can make it.

5 年We all need a coach in our professional or learning path or i can say we crave for... Some r lucky to have their guidance... Its a great idea that u r planning to become one, infact i believe u have already started ur journey..
