Coaching-A New Language in Transforming Spaces

It is true in sports and business.?In cohesive teams, the whole is a lot greater than the sum of its parts.?When teams work in synergy, they achieve extraordinary performance. One of the reasons why professional coaching intrigues me is the question ‘what makes teams successful?’ and as a coach for 17 years, my quest for new outcomes and perspective continues. My experience with each and every company counts. It is helping me to understand the industry and people better.
Today, I am opinionating about ‘Coaching is the new found language of growth that has been successful in shifting gears.’
Be it team coaching or individual coaching, companies are realizing and have been sharing the cumulative benefits of this process. Historically, organizations have focused on increasing productivity through the individual employee. That is why 10 to 15 years ago the focus was predominantly on individual coaching, but statistics show that coaching teams are now increasingly widespread. Ultimately, coaching can foster a culture of continuous learning, it helps to break down between different parts of the organization, increase the teams’ functionality and efficiency,?maturity by helping teams evolve faster than they could have done on their own and stimulate the entrepreneurial mindset of the employees.
So, why is it the new language? What is unique about ‘coaching’? or most importantly ‘Haven’t the companies survived without team coaching services in the past?’
The short answer is, coaching existed, and it always has. With the changing times, it has reformed. Each company is trying to identify their own system to enhance productivity, as well as efforts to safeguard their employees like balancing a see-saw! They have failed, bounced back, survived, lost all or have gained everything back. There are more than a thousand reasons today, for why the companies are investing in Team Coaching.
Here are 5 interesting opinions:
#1 Coaching says ‘You are a part of an extraordinary team!’- This helps to build solid connections within the team, an effective coach believes ‘Success is personal, every individual is successful and shall receive acknowledgment. Every person counts, and hence with this approach the feeling of being valued awakens. The actions, then do most of the talking.
#2 Coaching says ‘You will be allowed to have tough conversations’- Google’s Project Aristotle found that an effective team’s single most ingredient for success was psychological safety. But, there is a lot of work in the background to achieve ‘psychological safety’ as it is subjective in nature. Coaching can empower a team to cultivate the environment where members work with intention, commitment, and connection.

#3 Coaching makes the journey from ‘I’ to ‘We’, shows the big picture. Coaching conveys that everyone is the foundation of a functional team. Attributes such as building trust, engaging in healthy conflicts, being committed to the team, taking ownership and focusing on collective outcomes are strengthened with the help of a team coach. It fosters in building successful business and groundbreaking personal and professional results.
#4 Coaching is fostering growth brick by brick, the process of coaching involves steps. The coaches believe in nurturing every member of the group in order to achieve goals.?They start with employees. These bricks emphasize inquiry over advocacy, encouraging employees to ask questions, appreciating special feats and collaborative success, allowing a scope to develop and build new skill sets etc. Team coaches develop new ways to build a company and maintain a motivated environment.
?#5 Coaching is handcrafted-With Love and compassion , don’t you feel loved when you receive a gift, beautifully wrapped with small notes which says ‘handcrafted for you’? That’s what a team coach does. She/he identifies the giftedness in every company and curates a perfect recipe! Every environment may respond differently to an evidence based team coaching method, an exercise or a strategy, but the team coaches bridge the gap!
?Life coaching, relationship coaching, individual or a team coaching, these processes are undoubtedly a means to grow, evolve, change and achieve zenith!!
A new formal language which is process and data driven which conveys every step counts!
