Coaches Stop Discounting (How to Avoid this Confidence Drain)

Ever discount your fees and then feel crappy about yourself afterward? I think every coach or service provider has had this experience at least once... some many more times than once.

In the beginning of my coaching business I would drop my price for a client and... there it would be, that almost immediate hit to my psyche.

Confidence and Self-worth left the room.

I learned the hard way that sticking to your fees is not only a way to honor you and your business, but it honors the potential client or customer as well. People honor what they pay well for. Bigger commitment usually means they try harder to show up, and succeed with your program. Better for you and the client in the end.

I learned to state the investment to the potential client with unwavering confidence ( I had to rehearse this at first. A lot!)

and then.. shut. my. mouth.

That last part did wonders!

Instead of filling the second of silence after I spoke with," If that's hard for you right now, I can..." or "But this month I am running a special ( I wasn't)" . I learned to Sit. Lips touching. NO sound. Look at them.

Ball in their court. And....

Guess what? I would get my fee.

Keeping my mouth SHUT meant I stated it as if I KNEW I was WORTH EVERY penny.
