Coach Spotlight: Elyse Go

Coach Spotlight: Elyse Go

There is no deadline to starting over, it will never be too late. - Elyse Go, Executive Coach

These words are reassuring, especially coming from two pandemic years along with global and local challenges. Every year, every week, and every day, we are given the opportunity to begin again. But celebrating new beginnings is more than just a date and time. Some beginnings are grand. Some beginnings start off small. Some beginnings start off coming from a rocky past. No matter how you start a chapter, starting anew is an opportunity to use your experiences to build something better for yourself and the world around you. If you’re looking to be inspired by new beginnings, our graduate Coach Elyse Go is an excellent role model for anyone seeking motivation from a fresh start.

Coach Elyse proudly wears many hats, including those of an executive coach and entrepreneur. She joined the Center for Executive Coaching APAC training program in 2021 and received her Professional Certified Coach credential from the International Coaching Federation (ICF) in 2022. Elyse is not a stranger to challenges. One of the most difficult times was when her family business was severely affected during the pandemic. But she thrives in her role as coach and entrepreneur because at her core, she is someone who is passionate about growth in every form - people, economy, and organizations. And when it comes to growth and transformative change, the first step sets the tone for the rest of the journey.

Be inspired by the power of new beginnings by reading our conversation with Coach Elyse:

?? Coach Elyse, tell us about yourself. What are you passionate about? What drives you to do what you do?

I wear several hats as an educator, writer, entrepreneur, executive coach and inclusion advocate. But at the heart of this all is my passion for human development and making life better for people.

?? We are recovering from a pandemic and many other global and local challenges. How did The Center of Executive Coaching Asia-Pacific (CEC APAC) support you in helping organizations power through and begin over?

The Coaching for Exponential Leadership and CEC APAC program did not just gain me coaching expertise but also found like-minded lifelong partners in business and even in my advocacy. The coach training program developed in me a strategic mind in navigating both personal and professional life. I feel 10X wiser today.

?? Tell us about the milestones you achieved after accomplishing your coach training.

After my coach training with CEC APAC, I worked towards obtaining my Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential from the International Coaching Federation.

I've also recently launched and developed a peer coaching mastermind program for leaders and entrepreneurs with a vision to be a global platform.

?? What organizations have you collaborated with as an executive coach? What results have you observed?

I have supported government units and businesses in the food and automotive industry. The organizations I collaborate with mostly look for support in professionalizing systems and structures, as well as capacitating leaders in order to catch up with scale. Overall, the journey has been mostly about filling a lot of internal efficiency gaps to be ready for expansion.

Specific notable results include innovative initiatives in the company that could impact the lives of over 50,000 inhabitants in the community. Results also include liquidity after 70% loss of sales, 70% productivity increase reaching very minimal concerns in a day versus their starting point of almost like putting out fire everyday. The operational improvements have led to almost triple in sales, beyond expectations.

?? You have a heart for social change as co-founder of Hand and Heart and Precious Works of Differently Abled Enterprise (PWDe). What new beginnings are in store for these advocacy organizations in 2023?

Inclusion in general has fastly gained traction that Hand and Heart and PWDe are looking at wider scale awareness in 2023.

For Hand and Heart, partnership with Business Associations in holding a Diversity and Inclusion Conference and international crowdfunding.

The efforts of PWDe in organizing bazaars for PWD entrepreneurs have been tapped by multinationals to hold PWD week celebrations at their corporate offices. Truly a bright and joyful year ahead for the PWD community!

New beginnings are great, but lasting change starts from within. Coaching is a results-based method designed to help individuals reach their goals.
