This coach did NOT sell the number of spots she wanted. Here's why...

I was lazily lying in bed one morning doing a little research on my tablet for something I'm considering doing and I happened to come across this sales page...

It’s a stunning sales page with passionate copy and gorgeous images.

I can see this coach really knows what she's doing and has a HUGE heart.

Taking a look at her bio she's very well accomplished and has a couple of 7 figure businesses AND a non-profit.

But as I read through the sales page my heart just sank.

Why?

Well, I haven’t seen ANY of the other marketing for this program.

But after 12 years of helping businesses with their marketing in some way, shape or form and spending the last 4 years working purely with coaches, experts & leaders on dialling in their offers and crafting the right messaging

I'd bet my mountain bike that this coach did NOT sell the number of spots she wanted. (and I'm sure you know just how much I love my bicycle!)

And I'd bet my next bicycle on top of THAT, that she worked very, VERY hard for the spots she DID sell.

I know this sounds kinda arrogant.??Definitely NOT my intention.

Here’s what I saw:

1. No clear outcome.??

I read the entire page and could not figure out exactly what she was selling... there was no clear promise on what I was going to get from working with her.

The target audience was clearly someone like me, so I should have been able to determine "the gap."

But I couldn’t.?What’s the problem??What’s the solution??Dunno?!

2. No specific symptoms of the pain points or pleasure points, painted in such a way that I can picture it in my mind.

In other words, she's talking about things like "levelling up" and "living your best life"

Instead of "trapped in messenger conversations that go nowhere for 3 hours per day"

or "stuck on a 60-minute sales call that's run over time because you're coaching the prospect through objections while your 8-year-old's soccer game has just started"

3. No clear and meaningful difference.?

This is the difference from what your market has tried before that either didn't work for them or they just didn't like it.

This is NOT about you.

No one cares how many degrees or diplomas you have when it's time to hit the buy button.

My clients don't care that I have 3 businesses and a non-profit organization.

Or that I've been a business owner for the past 12 years.

Or that I have a Black Belt in Goju Ryu Karate.

My clients sign up to work with me because I help them get rid of objections, get off long sales calls and fill their $2k-$10k programs with emails and social media posts.

They sign up because I give them a New Plan.

Without a New Plan, you have to work EXTRA hard to "get" your clients to give your programs a chance.

And, finally…

4. The offer is a Marriage Proposal.?

It's a 3-month program that looks like it contains at least 12 months' worth of content - there are so many "extras" that she's added in.

12 months of content is like asking someone for marriage on the first date.?Regardless of price.

Why??Because it’s a ton of commitment.

"Tons of commitment" is very, very hard to sell… even when you do a LOT of marketing.

I mean, really, REALLY hard to sell.

I'm not hating or anything

But I'm pointing all this out to you because I care.

I'm sure this program is absolutely incredible & life-changing. I can see this Leader is amazing at what she does.

I bet you have life-changing, incredible programs, too.

But here's the thing...

We can’t change lives if our people don’t buy.

We can't make a difference & the impact we want to make if our people don't buy.

Your market will NOT buy marriage proposal offers that don't have a clear outcome that sound exactly like the last 5 programs they've already tried and failed at.

Or where the brain can't connect the dots and easily see that they need this program right now!

Not consistently anyway

And certainly not with any kind of ease...

But rather with a lot and I mean a LOT of hard work, chasing & convincing...

And yet I see Leaders doing the 5-day challenges, hiring appointment setters, sharing 7-posts-a-day-on-Instagram, long, hectic launches with 5 emails on cart close day…

Trying to sell offers that will NEVER sell consistently, in the first place.

Not trying to be mean here.?This is human psychology.

Yes, your "brand," "authority" and "vibe" will take you part of the way.

Some of my clients DO choose me over someone else because I'm down to earth, relatable, always out in nature, am a bit of a geek and passionate about helping my community.

But I can’t count on that stuff for CONSISTENTLY making sales, via a PDF document, pretty much every time I make an offer.

It’s not perfect.?(Nobody has a perfect system.)
