Coach and Be Coached: The Leadership Philosophy Driving Growth at Elentic

At Elentic , “Coach and Be Coached” is how we build stronger teams and future leaders. Coaching here is a two-way conversation, grounded in empathy, trust, and shared growth.

Keith F. and Lay Taylor , Elentic’s co-founders, try to live this mantra every day. Their leadership philosophy? Lead with intention, listen with purpose, and grow together.

Coaching with Purpose

Keith Fischer’s career journey—from industry to contracting to Consulting—has taught him a critical lesson: success comes from coaching with intention.

"Every meeting, every conversation needs an outcome," Keith explains. Coaching is about creating environments where people feel empowered to contribute.

Whether coaching a team or being coached, Keith emphasizes understanding the listener:

  • What does the team need to succeed?
  • How can feedback create value and build trust?

By focusing on purposeful coaching, Keith has built relationships that go beyond projects—they’re partnerships grounded in shared goals and mutual respect.

Creating Safe Spaces for Growth

Lay Taylor believes coaching starts with empathy. He emphasizes that “Coach and Be Coached” fosters real conversations where both sides can learn and grow.

"When coaching comes from care, it’s about wanting the best for each other," Lay shares. This mindset creates a safe space for feedback, free from fear or judgment.

Lay and Keith coach each other daily, modeling how feedback should flow in every direction. Their openness encourages employees to share ideas and challenges, knowing their voices will be heard.

Feedback is a Gift

At Elentic, feedback is an opportunity to grow. Keith reinforces that “Feedback is a gift.”

"It would be easier to stay silent, but sharing honest feedback helps us all improve," Keith says. The key is to approach feedback with emotional neutrality—recognizing the wisdom it brings rather than taking it personally.

Leading with Integrity and Intention

Coaching with intention means acting with integrity. Keith shared advice that continues to guide him:

  • Understand your audience. Know what motivates them and how they process information.
  • Act with purpose. Enter every meeting with a clear goal, whether it’s solving a problem or supporting a team member.
  • Include others. Great solutions come from collaboration, not isolation.

This intentional approach to coaching builds trust and drives meaningful results.

Coaching Builds Stronger Teams

Elentic’s “Coach and Be Coached” mantra empowers employees at every level to lead and learn. It’s a cycle of continuous growth—one that strengthens teams, deepens relationships, and drives success.

Whether offering feedback or receiving it, every conversation is an opportunity to grow together.

Lay and Keith helped me grow a lot while I was working for Elentic. They used a book called “The Trusted Advisor” to shape my views and improve my performance as a consultant while providing consistent support and leadership.
