CO2 High/Warm Ambient Solutions

We all know that standard CO2 booster systems in high ambient locations uses way more energy than a regular system would. This is because of the amount of flash gas the system produces during those hot days. Over the last decade many high or warm ambient strategies have been implemented into systems which are installed in some of the warmest location on the planet. These solutions reduce that amount of flash gas going into the flash tank receiver, and when that happens this reduce the amount of work on the transcritical or medium temperature compressors. When this happens we see a reduction in the amount of energy it takes to run a CO2 system. With some of these design strategies CO2 is becoming a more cost effective solution.

Depending on the global location will depend on the solution needed. With CO2 systems you cannot take the one size fits all approach, there are many considerations you need to look at but with the right design you can come up with a very economical solution for your customer or business.
