The co-working revolution continues into 2020

Despite the latest news that WeWork is axing 2400 jobs globally, the future is bright for the co-working industry.
Well, I would say that wouldn’t I? But actually the facts are there for all to see.
In the UK there has been a massive shift in how and where people choose to work.
Less traditional, relaxed co-working environments continue to be popular and not just in central London too. Smaller, boutique style co-working hubs have cropped up in major towns and cities across the UK and are proving popular with small businesses who are keen to keep their costs down; freelancers who want companionship and inspiration from a more lively and interesting atmosphere and home workers desperate to escape their family residence and keep their home/work life separate.
This is well illustrated in a recent article from IPE Real Assets which reported that “Investors and researchers predict that the square footage allocated to flexible or coworking use will grow to about 10-20% of total leased space by 2030, compared with about 2% today.”
Based on feedback from customers we have helped this year, I’ve compiled the top 10 amenities that I predict will be the most important for co-working spaces in 2020:-
- Super fast internet
- Easy to book meeting rooms with high quality AV equipment and conferencing facilities
- 24/7 site access
- Quality kitchen and dining areas
- Registered business address and post handling provided
- Quiet phone booths
- Bike storage area
- Secure lockers
- Chillout area
- Onsite networking events
