How Can Co-Creation Create Unique Value For Customers?
We are in a new Paradigm. Too many things have changed to say that we know what to do and how to act in 2021. The danger is, if we have NOT realized that this is a fact.
The biggest problem in this is, that most business models are based on the paradigm from the 1960s or 1970s; everything was based on a world very predictable and well-structured.
During 2020 the foundation from this structure, has been torn away under us, in few days. With no insight, we all went from formal, well-known and defines roles, to a more blurred picture of the roles that companies play in the market. This shift, mainly caused by a rapid discourses, such as deregulation, globalization, technological convergence. The internet have changed the way companies play in their dealings with other businesses, even more.
In the midst of this complexity, it opens up to other business models: everyone and anyone can be part of the action. The customers play a very central role, in all these changes. The ability (and willingness) to be agile, a fast learner & skills of collaboration, is a must.
The customers are changing the dynamics, in which businesses are competing to create value. This can be solved by establishing a "Co-Creation Mindset", an approach to invite the customers, their knowledge and needs. The goal is to give the customers, what they want.
If we want to accommodate the needs of the customers, we can include them actively in learningfull dialogues. This can be done in many exciting ways which I want to share here.
I encourage organizations to work together. The core key is to find better interesting ways to do business with like-minded professionals, start thinking in new directions and share ideas.
The value by involving the targeted loyal customers, is big. They help co-create products and services and tailor make them to suit specific customer needs. It is a win-win!
The spark of new approaches in the way we interact with our customers and other like-minded professionals, or else we can lose our market shares.
If we do not have the awareness to understand the importance of mindshift, the consequences can easily be that will be set out of the market, become irrelevant or loose our customers to competitors.

The value of bringing in new knowledge and skills they possess, together with a willingness to learn and experiment, is big. Together with the ability, actively to engage, communicate about how we act in a complex world. The consequences are too big to not change this.
- This will change the business models we know and work from. But the learning curve will grow - so business are able to scale, even in crisis and challenges times!
By open up - let go of old frames, that lead to being stuck - we invite talents where it makes sense! Managers will be able to identify new business opportunities and find new ways to deploy the company's intellectual assets.
The awareness and recognition that the consumers are the sources of competences will force managers to cast an even wider net, filled with openness & willingness, to see the whole picture. Because we are all in this together - our minds have to follow how the market works
- Co-Creation can be organized in many different patterns, depending on the goals, the level of interaction and how engaged we want input from outside
But competences are just a way of how we approach the solutions we want to find. The benefit of a collective way in how we find new solutions, can be as simple as looking at the network we already have: suppliers, manufacturers, partners, investors, and customers.
The big secret is, that these ideas very easily make all the complex very simple, easy and manageable - like any new habit, this takes courage, stepping out of the comfort zone and finding even better ways to do business. With like-minded professionals you are never alone.
