CMOSS: True MOSA with high readiness level
Military Embedded Systems
Military Embedded Systems focuses on electronics – hardware and software – for military applications.
C5ISR Modular Open Suite of Standards (CMOSS) originated nearly 10 years ago as a concept within the U.S. Army RDECOM/CERDEC/I2WD office as CERDEC C4ISR/EW Hardware/Software Convergence. Eight years of subsequent research?and development has created a comprehensive technology base that is currently being specified as a threshold requirement for U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) programs including CMOSS Mounted Form Factor (CMFF). With the potential for near-term disruptive innovation in both the acquisition and operational commands, broader awareness of CMOSS?technology and manufacturing readiness levels is warranted. Think tanks: How smarter vehicle electronics are enabled by open architectures
Imagine a battlefield where tanks predict enemy movements, armored personnel carriers self-diagnose mechanical issues, and infantry fighting vehicles automatically adjust their defensive systems based on incoming threats. Thanks to advancements in vehicle electronics – or vetronics – and open architecture initiatives like CMOSS [C4ISR/EW (command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance/electronic warfare) Modular Open Suite of?Standards] this vision is closer to reality than ever before. CJADC2 At The Edge Virtual Summit Live Sept. 12th
In 2022, the. U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) released its Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control (CJADC2) strategy, which “is intended to produce the warfighting capability to sense, make sense, and act at all levels and phases of war, across all domains, and with partners, to deliver information advantage at the speed of relevance,” according to the DoD’s CJADC2 Executive Summary. CJADC2 will modernize the DoD’s command-and-control (C2) systems with an integrated network that links sensors and target data from the tactical edge to C2 systems across multiple domains including land, sea, air, space, cyber, and spectrum to enable real-time responsiveness.
Powered by Military Embedded Systems, the CJADC2 At The Edge Virtual Summit is designed to drive awareness and thought leadership around CJADC2 concepts and requirements and to study how AI, high-performance computing, cyber operations, signal-processing solutions, and other embedded technologies solutions will impact system designs.
