The CMO role is disappearing
A few brilliant LinkedIn posts I curated last week. All of them from brilliant marketing leaders from around the world.
1. Peep Laja - Generic testimonials don't work
They used to be a credibility booster, but not so much anymore. Speero has run a number of A/B tests on B2B sites over the recent years, and adding testimonials is mostly insignificant (no lift).
2. Avishai Sharon - CFOs now play a key role in the buying journey.
The CFO joined the meeting. He wanted us to explain in dollar terms the impact we could demonstrate before he approves the deal.
3. Laura Erdem - This is how we align Marketing and Sales
A simple framework that will help any marketing and sales leaders create a love-love business relationship.
4. Adriana Stein - The CMO role is disappearing
Marketing covers a lot of different elements, and the weight of all that responsibility–especially within a limited timeframe–can lead to high turnover
5. Joe Pulizzi - The most important skill for a human being to learn is writing
The more you write, the better you process information.

1 年Yam Regev also to new CMO I recently spoke to the pressure is immense: creating "Marketing Sourced Revenue" , implementing Quick-wins and most of the time setting up a new Marketing Strategy including Segmentation, Team, ICP, Content focus, etc. I just structured these challenges. What is your idea to address the challenges?
Co-Founder & Fractional CMO helping startups and SMEs with growth, and unlock £300B+ in grants and tenders with AI—no VCs taking equity, no BigCo taking revenue. 3x Founder, 8x CMO.

1 年I also think that with the push for more fractional CMOs, especially for early-stage startups, businesses aren't considering putting a lot of resources into a full-time CMO.

1 年It's no longer about "Does anyone recommend this?" but "Who recommends this?" ^ wow, such a great reminder Your testimonials/reviews shouldn't be from just anyone. To make them stronger, you've got to use wording from avatars that resemble your ideal customer persona. That way, the person reading the review can see themselves in it. The more they see themselves in it, the more likely they'll trust the review.
