Because of CMAA —

Management is able to share many of their own blunders over the years with their peers ― thereby sparing others from making similar mistakes at their clubs. Oftentimes --- all that is needed is some sincere and meaningful mentoring.

CMAA provides opportunities to help others.

Because of CMAA —

Management is able to learn from the mistakes of others. A smart person learns from his or her?own?mistakes. But a truly wise person puts themselves in a position to be able to learn from the mistakes of?others?― and, therefore not have to make them themselves. My CMAA brothers and sisters have saved me countless of sometimes potentially career-threatening errors.

CMAA provides opportunities to learn from others.

Because of CMAA —

Management is exposed to countless opportunities to learn and grow as a professional and have become empowered to serve the membership at great clubs with the professionalism they deserve.

Yes, like most of us, I’ve worked my tail off and strive for the best I can be.

However, if not for the education (both formal and informal) that CMAA has afforded me over the years ― I know there is no way that I could have as professionally served and provided leadership that my management peers and the members we all serve truly deserve.

CMAA provides the education to effectively lead.

Because of CMAA —

Management has the resources to turn to for specific answers to the concerns that come across all of our the professional radar screens from time to time.

While we might think we’re as creative as the next guy is ― hey, why reinvent the wheel at every turn? CMAA has "been there / done that" and is available with the expertise to help navigate through what otherwise might seem like significant concerns.

CMAA has the concern and care of a tremendous professional staff as well as many club managers who volunteer their time for the sole purpose of bettering our efforts.

As a member of CMAA, they are all available.

Because of CMAA?—

I have had the opportunity to visit dozens (perhaps even many hundreds) of clubs all over the United States.

Whether I happen to be attending the annual conference, or even just traveling on my own ― all it takes is a phone call identifying yourself as a fellow CMAA member, and you will never meet more warm and caring people who are willing to share their knowledge, professional expertise and to show you their facility.

Because of CMAA?—

• I humbly consider myself an "expert witness" when it comes to budget preparations and overall club operations.
• I do know what it takes to continually upgrade a club and to "take it to that next level" that every board has in the back of their mind.

This is not bravado in talking about me.?Not at all! Zero.

No. I'm talking about what CMAA has enabled me to do.

CMAA definitely enhances the performance of management to better serve their respective clubs.

To younger professionals or even new board members?—

You may be a young person in the field who is sincerely wondering if an investment of your time in CMAA is worth it.

Or, perhaps you’re a board member wondering if an expense line supporting management with active membership in CMAA has a viable ROI.

In either case ―I'll offer a resounding "YES" and all the encouragement in the world to begin utilizing the resources available through CMAA immediately and continually.

To More Seasoned Veterans?—

Perhaps you’ve been around clubs for many years, and simply believe that “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks.”

Hmmmm. Really?

I suggest that you rethink this, and share my conclusion that .....

The quickest way to become an old dog is to stop learning new tricks!

While I may be a veteran club management professional myself, my association with CMAA over the years has kept my professional bag of "tricks" current, refreshed, and highly marketable.

Because of CMAA — I’ll always be young pup.
