Of clouds and clear skies, Of peaks and troughs - The art of finding Joy in the journey.

Day 7 : Descent towards Bamboo

With the triumphant feeling of having completed the ascent with a loved one by my side, fueled by the larger purpose of Shaping Lives still holding on strong in our hearts; we braced ourselves for the descent, beginning with a trek which would last 9 hours.

It was a day of contrasts, which began with a cloudy sky above us, hiding the sight of the peaks that we constantly sought.

Our prayers were soon answered with the clouds parting, to slowly unveil all the peaks on the Annapurna range. The most breathtaking sight that this grand unveiling brought to us, was the Machhapuchhare peak appearing right opposite the summit of Annapurna.

This clearing up of the skies and the bright weather remained our companions for the most part of the day. However, it started to rain when we reached Dovan. Despite the initial apprehensions, trekking in the rain turned out to be unexpectedly enjoyable.

The sight of the imposing range, the unexpected joy of hiking in the rain despite hurtful knees and stark changes in the landscape – A patchwork of experiences to take back home.?To inspire young lives to navigate the peaks and troughs of their life, finding joy in unexpected and challenging circumstances, and persevering despite?difficulties.
