Cloud9 can be terrible!

There are a few reasons why Cloud9 will not work for you.
Keeping our clients safe from online threats is something we put a lot of effort into. There are several types of attacks, including key loggers that record your login information, and DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks, which overload services with fake traffic and cause them to crash.
When software updates become available, we advise our clients to install them as soon as possible, and we support them throughout the process where they need assistance.
... but if a website asks you to update Adobe Flash, don't do it!
You should assume that any Flash update message is a security threat since Flash itself was discontinued in 2020.
A new 'botnet' campaign is currently using fake Flash messages to install a malicious browser extension, called Cloud9. Microsoft Edge and Chrome are two popular browsers that may be targeted.
As a group of infected devices are controlled as one, a botnet steals sensitive data, sends spam, or performs DDoS attacks without their owners' knowledge.
It's also possible that Cloud9 will try to install additional malware on your device or network if it's not stopped in a timely manner.
Almost anyone can be targeted by this kind of attack since it looks like a legitimate request. You can, however, take steps to protect your business.
First, let everyone know that there is a threat. Your people are less likely to install the update if they know what to look out for.
Secondly, ensure everyone is using the most up-to-date browser and security software.
The last step is to choose Enhanced Protection from the Privacy and Security settings on your browser. A risky website or download will be flagged if you stumble upon it.
