Event Highlight: Google Cloud Day Bulgaria 2024

Just last week, we had the privilege of being at the epicenter of the first-ever Google Cloud Day Bulgaria 2024, an event that gathered hundreds of leaders from the cloud and tech ecosystems across CEE and EMEA.

Aleksandar A. , Technical Team Lead at Europe Cloud , and Kristiyan Lozanov , COO at Global Infra Tech (GIT) , one of our customers, delivered a captivating presentation titled "Elevating Blockchain Services: Global Infra Tech's Migration to Cloud Excellence with Google Cloud."?

They shared the stage to explain how Global Infra Tech managed to reduce its cloud infrastructure bill by 40% while enhancing performance, scalability, and security.

During the event, Google DeepMind’s Vice President of Research, Dr. Slav Petrov also announced that Google is donating $1 million for AI PhD fellowships at the INSAIT - Institute for Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Technology in Sofia, Bulgaria. This investment aims to foster the country’s next generation of AI innovators.?

Case Study: LimeChain's Cloud Transformation with Europe Cloud

Before partnering with Europe Cloud, LimeChain - Blockchain & Web3 Solutions was already effectively using their cloud infrastructure. Our goal was to elevate their cloud capabilities further, establishing a robust and secure infrastructure to ensure greater output and outcomes while maintaining dependability, security, and zero downtime.

LimeChain's project involved optimizing multiple Compute Engine and App Engine applications and migrating enterprise-grade databases using Cloud SQL. To ensure uninterrupted operations and expert maintenance, Google Monitoring was employed to keep constant watch over their environment. Budget alerts were also set to achieve cost optimization.

EA SPORTS FC Ultimate Team is one of Electronic Arts' most valuable assets. When migrating to the cloud, the EA team only had one shot to get it right. The stakes were high, given an enthusiastic fan base and a property worth billions of dollars. The pressure on the EA team was immense, as they aimed to achieve greater flexibility and scalability to keep up with the game's growing demands.

Electronic Arts decided to move EA SPORTS FC Ultimate Team to Google Cloud to leverage its unmatched infrastructure.??

The migration was executed flawlessly, ensuring no disruptions for the players. EA SPORTS FC Ultimate Team's large, passionate fan base remained unaware of the backend changes, as there were no outages or interruptions. This seamless transition highlighted the effectiveness of the cloud infrastructure.

"We did it and people were like, ‘What do you mean you did it? We didn't notice anything.’ This was exactly our goal," said Wilson Chan, Senior Principal Architect at EA.??

With the migration, EA SPORTS FC Ultimate Team achieved greater flexibility and scalability, crucial for handling millions of concurrent players and their data-intensive interactions.
