Cloud-Native Today: What you want to know !
Welcome to the third edition of the Cloud-Native Innovators newsletter, May Booster. Our last edition talked about how AI is driving innovation in the cloud-Native space and the power of system thinking, if you’re new here and intrigued by the topic, we highly recommend checking that out.?
Cloud-Native Innovators is tailored for tech professionals who want to stay informed of up-to-the-minute updates on the latest and greatest cloud-native technologies. However,? being a true innovator means more than gaining knowledge and keeping up with the trends. It's about harnessing that knowledge, applying it in our daily work, and driving meaningful results to our organizations.?
We want to empower ourselves to make a positive impact and drive innovation forward in the tech industry. To achieve this, we have to fine-tune our mindsets. That's why we also summarize insights from popular productivity and leadership books on the market. I wrote a blog post a while back about our methodology: Learn, Leverage, and Innovate more in-depth. Give it a read if any of these sound appealing to you!
In this edition, we’ll continue with one of the most exciting conferences in the field, a conference that happens twice per year in Europe and North America held by Cloud Native Computing Foundation(CNCF) - KubeCon + CloudNativeCon. Let’s continue to learn the field and practice what we learned as Cloud-Native Innovators.
Navigating the Cloud-Native Landscape?
April brought us the highly anticipated KubeCon Europe 2023, undoubtedly one of my favorite community events. The cloud-native ecosystem we explore today reaches far beyond the realms of Kubernetes alone. It encompasses a diverse array of technologies and practices that empower the development, deployment, and management of modern applications that are tailored to run in the cloud and hybrid environments. This landscape goes beyond just provisioning and management tools, it also embrasses a wide variety of tools for security, networking, observability, cloud native Data Management, Serverless, WASM, API Management, developer productivity and more.?
Check out this blog post to discover my highlights of Cloud-Native Con + KubeCon Europe 2023 and Cloud-Native Con + KubeCon North America 2022 based on the following pillars :
I am still digesting some sessions, hope you also enjoy those learnings as much as I do !?
Make our productivity sustainable
Back to earlier this year, I wrote about the Link Between Happiness and Productivity based on a book called the happiness advantage by Shawn Achor. This book made a genuinely positive impact on me, it makes me dive deeper into our pursuit of happiness and the possibility of being happy and productive at the same time by prioritizing happiness and nurturing a positive mindset.
I've been working on some new products that honor sustainable productivity. To me, that means achieving efficient work while prioritizing our well-being. Activities such as rewarding yourself with a nice coffee or tea are helpful in the process.? And to truly respect sustainability, we ensure the product is eco-friendly, minimizing waste.?
That's why I created a new tech well-being store featuring my own designed mugs, productivity products, and motivational frame posters, which would help us create a positive office environment. You can shop on our new tech well-being store here and enjoy a 10% EARLYBIRD discount sitewide.
Bill Gates said, “You are not a slacker if you cut yourself some slack “ in his latest commencement speech to the forestry and engineering graduates of Northern Arizona University. He wishes he could have used this piece of advice the most when he was younger.
Take time to nurture your relationships, to celebrate your successes, and to recover from your losses. Take a break when you need to. Take it easy on the people around you when they need it, too. - Bill Gates
