Moving work load into the Cloud always seems easy – certainly the suppliers will tell you so. But in reality, there are range of things you need to do to take advantage of this new way of delivering IT, without some of the the risk.
The biggest concern is not just security these days. Barriers and risks lie in your data architecture, systems planning and cloud supplier due diligence processes and compliance worries.
Get these things sorted first, and you and your organisation can exploit cloud models to create flexibility, to build productivity and to reduce cost. But get it wrong and you will be re-inventing the legacy problems of the past seen in some of the worst IT outsourcing lock-ins.
