Thanks to Google, we all tend to take the magic of internet searches for granted. In a joint report between the National Cyber Security Centre and National Crime Agency, NCSC's CEO, Lindy Cameron, said, “Organised crime groups have continued to evolve in recent years, with the growth of the ‘ransomware as a service’ model sadly leading to more attacks."

Most cybercriminal success is still a result of poor cyber hygiene creating an opportunity for malicious access. For organisations, this really spotlights the importance of building and maintaining strong cyber defences.
