Read Transactions and Isolation Levels in Fabric Warehouse

Over on my YouTube channel I'm continuing the Fabric SQL series by looking at transactions and isolation levels available within Fabric Warehouses. The demo looks at how to read data in a consistent state when there are also data updates. Look out for a more detailed written blog next week for many more transaction scenarios in Fabric (read/write/update/delete).

Bogdan Crivat is a guest on Kasper de Jonge excellent YouTube channel talking about Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse & Warehouse Engineering Deep Dive. This is definitely one to check out if you are looking to use Fabric Lakehouses and Warehouses. Watch now.

The Azure Diagrams web tool has been updated with Fabric items now, so you can start to build out architecture diagrams. If you haven't seen the Azure Diagrams tool yet I wholeheartedly encourage you do. Check Azure Diagrams out

Other Things

• The Data Factory June 2023 Monthly Update is now live over on the main Fabric blog, plenty of improvements there (and I think Dataflows Gen2 has had a performance boost too). Read more here.
• Table Cloning in Fabric Warehouses is now available, this is similar in functionality to Databricks Shallow clone in that the table metadata is copied but not the source data. However, both the original and clone table are independent of each other allowing schema or data changes. Read more here.
• The RSS feed for the Fabric blog is up and running, very useful if you want to plug it in to your favourite RSS feeder. Check out the RSS feed here.
