Configuring Delta Lake Export in Synapse Link for Dataverse

Microsoft recently released the ability to configure Synapse Link for Dataverse and use Delta Lake as the export format. As I’ve dived into the Synapse Link for Dataverse feature recently with exporting Dynamics 365 Sales data, I was keen to get hands on with the Delta Lake export option. Delta Lake is a data and transaction storage file format very popular in Lakehouse implementations and is becoming a very popular format that enables decoupling storage with compute.

Things I've Been Looking At This Week

• Since the Fabric SQL engine is based on the Synapse Serverless SQL Pools engine, I thought I'd go back to the Polaris whitepaper and have a read. Download the whitepaper here
• I've been reading through the Fabric Warehouse documentation and paying particular attention to the workload management and best practices. Check it out here Workload management - Microsoft Fabric | Microsoft Learn
