What is Cloud Computing?
Cloud Computing is basically the delivery of computing services like servers, databases, storage, networking, software and analytics over the internet. In simple terms, rather than having our own data centers or computing infrastructure we use the services which is owned by someone else (for example, the cloud service provider).
It is one of the most efficient way to store large amount of data that keeps changing rapidly in today's world. In cloud, we use the "pay as you go" model, which means we only need to pay for the services that we use, instead of managing the complete infrastructure. It is the most scalable, reliable and cost efficient method as compared to the legacy data centers. One can easily scale-up or scale-down the resources as and when needed. When it comes to reliability, cloud provide us ways to prevent failover or redundancy which is much efficient than the traditional data centers.
Being the most cost efficient way, it helps us to reduce the capital expenditure. One can also save themselves from paying the complete upfront cost in the beginning as cloud also provide us ways to pay in partial upfront or no-upfront cost.
With cloud, one has the option to "go-global in minutes", which means we can easily expand to new geography and region and deploy our resources globally in minutes which was not possible in data centers as it takes longer time to design.

Is Cloud Secure?
Cloud not only provides scalability and reliability, it is also the most secure platform designed to protect cloud-based infrastructure and data. It uses compliance, policies, encryption, user authentication and authorization to make our data more secure.

In the above article, we read about the basic understanding of the cloud. Hope this makes you clear and we will discuss more about cloud and it's type in the upcoming article.
