Closing A Year & Starting A New Year
As another year draws to a close, we think on the year past and the as lessons we have learned on many fronts. It gives us hope on the blessings to come for the future. It has been the strangest year I have ever experienced just as it has been for so many. Irish Angel had to sit basically dormant for a year as we waited for the craziness of the events that unfolded the past year to pass and they have somewhat. Although we are not out of the woods just yet, the future is looking brighter going into 2022. I am grateful to all I have met along the way, the friendships, the partnerships, support and kindness of so many that has now helped the vision of Irish Angel become a reality.
It has been a trying time for Irish Angel to say the least. One of uncertainty and trying to navigate our way through the turbulence of 2021. With Covid, not being able to travel o the U.S for two whole years, to the George Floyd fall out hindering out fundraising efforts. Having to cancel our launch event several times that we should have launched Irish Angel on its way in 2020 but with restrictions we couldn't. We found ourselves coasting our way through uncharted waters. We stayed the course and worked tirelessly to make the Irish Angel Thin Blue Line launch finally go off last October. Thankfully we held on long enough to find ourselves finally in a good place to be able to help "protect our protectors." We could not have done it without you guys, and I say "WE" because I could not do what I do without the amazing Irish Angel team behind me. Your support and love has kept Irish Angel holding on for dear life to make this work. You guys never gave up on us and we never gave up! You guys mean so much to us that it was worth holding on too. We will always fight the good fight.
As we go into the new year, we will be focusing on our mission. Our team is ever expanding, with some of the best in the field of services and mental health. As is our reach as we open new chapters in Texas and Florida. We are also just about to launch our new website, which I am excited about and it is pretty awesome. We could not have done without the support, expertise and generosity of former LEO, owned company Lorraine Gregory Communications. They have been phenomenal to say the least. We have designed the site in such a way of which you can you can be a part of it. We are going back to what Irish Angel was founded on, which is blogging, Sharing experiences from our Heroes and survivors. We hope that their experiences will help others recognize any issues they may have and encourage them to reach out. We are working closely with some amazing law enforcement, first responders and veteran resources of which are vetted to make sure that our Heroes get the proper care they need when they reach out for the help. It is paramount that they get access to help almost instantly, given that time is off the essence from he moment that someone reaches out.
As much as it is important to be able to get people to recognize their issues and get help, it is also our job to make sure that our Heroes maintain their recovery and wellness. We have a wonderful team that will help with, health, fitness, nutrition, support and wellbeing. We at Irish Angel have been working really hard for the last year on building an army that can help in all of these fields. Maintaining your recovery is a constant and ever evolving process. With the right support and guidance you don't have to do it alone. We hope we can be an Angel in your shoulder, to promote and encourage a healthy, full life for you.
Many might ask, what does a woman all the way in Ireland have experience that can understand and help our communities?! Six years ago now you guys opened your arms to me and welcomed me into the law enforcement, first responder and veterans community. I educated myself, on the American way, the constitution and in the services industry. It gave me an insight into how difficult it was there for you guys holding the front line, not only in your work but in your mind too. I know first hand what it is like to have PTS affect your life. I have an extremely close family member, who suffered with PTS after the loss of my Brother, Alcohol was used as a crutch to get through the grief and for years and years it went untreated and now has manifested into Parasychosis. From 1993 till now it has been a roller coaster of emotions, trials and tribulations so, I understand what it is like to live through that in my home growing up until now. It has been extremely difficult to say the least. But knowing what I know now and having family in Law Enforcement here in Ireland, made me realize just how difficult it must be for those in service to struggle through their difficulties every day. It is why I am so passionate about helping "protect our protectors."
There is so much coming in the new year for Irish Angel and how we can make an impact for many, We may only be a tiny pebble in an massive ocean, (the Atlantic Ocean) to be precise, but if you throw a pebble hard enough it can make such a big splash and cause a ripple effect that we hope that those ripples will touch so many. I am just grateful that you guys are along with us for the ride.
"You're Never Out Of The Fight, Trust Wisely, Love Carefully & Reach Out. We Look Forward To New Beginnings In 2022. Much Love & Respect To You All From Your Irish Angel."
