A Year to Reflect: Leaders, Let’s Celebrate What Went Right in 2024

As we approach the close of 2024, I invite you, fellow leaders, to pause. Not to check the next item off your to-do list, not to analyze what didn’t go as planned—but to truly reflect on what did.

We often focus on what’s left undone, what’s broken, or what’s next. But if we don’t stop to appreciate the blessings, wins, and moments of growth along the way, we miss the chance to refuel ourselves and our teams for what’s ahead.

This year has been a remarkable one for me. When I sat down to reflect, here’s what came to mind:

? Abundance: Opportunities to expand my horizons personally and professionally.

?? Travel & Adventure: Exploring new countries, cultures, and perspectives that deepened my understanding of the world.

?? Rich Relationships: Strengthened connections with clients and partners, who continue to inspire and challenge me. My many communities of leaders, spiritual seekers, women's groups, colleagues, and friends that enrich my life.

?? Learning & Growth: New leadership tools and accreditations that sharpen my ability to serve.

?? Unexpected Gifts: Surprise arrivals of people and experiences that added a spark of joy and inspiration.

It’s easy to brush past these moments, but they are what fuel us. They are the evidence of progress, the seeds of momentum, and the reminders that even amidst challenges, we are building something good.

As a leader, your mindset sets the tone for your organization. Imagine what could shift if, in your next team meeting, you asked: “What are we proud of from this year?” instead of “What’s still missing?”

So here’s my challenge to you:

Before the year ends, take an hour to reflect. Celebrate the wins, small and big, personal and professional. Share them with your teams, your families, and yourself.

Let’s lead with gratitude and remind ourselves of the power of what’s possible when we acknowledge what’s good.

What are you celebrating from 2024? I’d love to hear your reflections in the comments below. Let’s inspire one another to embrace this practice of gratitude together. ??
