Closing Out Brat Summer with Citi Field Blowouts, Grand Openings and Big Wins!

What does Brat Summer mean to you? For us, it’s all about defying expectations. At MetroPlusHealth, we chose to channel that viral energy into unforgettable community events and celebrations. From our Community Office grand opening in The Bronx to Kids Night at Citi Field, we seized every opportunity to go big for NYC.

Grand Opening: Fordham Road Community Office

This August, we opened our second Community Office in The Bronx at 25 East Fordham Road. Our new site will be instrumental in increasing access to life-saving health and wellness resources.?

This wasn’t an ordinary ribbon-cutting ceremony. We made it a blowout party! Music, refreshments, LED robots, and giveaways were?all part of the fun. Some of The Bronx’s most important local officials, including Bronx Borough President Hon. Vanessa L. Gibson and Assembly Member Yudelka Tapia, stopped by to celebrate. Health Check in :60, Vision Health

Did you know that almost 93 million American adults are at high risk for vision loss? Unfortunately, only half of these individuals visited an eye doctor in the past year. New York City FC Partnership

Young footballers brought their A-game for the first-ever Kids Night presented by MetroPlusHealth! NYCFC may have played the Chicago Fire, but it was our team who brought the heat.?

We hosted a night full of excitement on the pitch, in the stands, and outside the gates of Citi Field. Our team had a blast making The World’s Game more accessible to NYC’s youngest athletes.

Parades and Borough Celebrations:

• Ecuadorian Independence Day Parade: We proudly joined celebrations marking Ecuadorian Independence Day. The strength and culture of NYC’s Ecuadorian communities were on full display!
• Dominican Day Parade: This year’s Dominican Day Parade was a blast. We had an incredible time dancing alongside Yaisel LM and DJ Lobo on our float. The energy was contagious!
• Harlem Week 50: What an honor it was to celebrate 50 years of Harlem Week! This historic event celebrated Harlem’s unique mark on the world. As a non profit that started in El Barrio, we are proud to continue building brighter futures for communities within this incredible neighborhood.

Employee Awards and Milestones:

• Employee of the month: Congratulations to Michelle Rodriguez, our Facilities Coordinator, for being recognized as July's Employee of the Month! Her commitment to connecting people with the resources they need is invaluable.
• City Council Proclamation: A huge congrats to Gabriela Mayorga, our Senior Manager of Brand Partnerships & Experiential Marketing, for receiving a Proclamation from City Council Member Francisco Moya. Gaby was recognized for her dedication to the NYC Ecuadorian community, especially in Queens. This is an incredible honor, and we couldn’t be more proud to have her on our team.
