Product/Offering Management at IBM: Closing my 4 years at IBM with a GA release of my last offering.

It was a fitting way to end my 4 years at IBM Cloud/Bluemix/SoftLayer by making the GA release of my second offering this year! (yes quite a productive year indeed)

It's been quite a ride to be part of the IBM Cloud journey, meeting inspiring people, working with sharp folks, ideating-building-releasing brand new offerings through multiple re-orgs, teams, managers and re-brandings. You can read more about it here

Thanks to all those who supported my journey at IBM and made it such a fun place to work at. I am hoping we will be able to keep in touch ..even though it's time to move on now. It feels very similar to the time when I was leaving HP and Joining IBM 4 years back .. looking forward to diving into a new domain (this time its Fintech, last time it was Cloud) ..taking along with me all the great learnings (this time its about Offering Management, Cloud Security and offering Infrastructure as a Service(IaaS), last time it was embedded programming and Network Security). As Ginni Rometty's said at GHC 2016 keynote "Growth and comfort never co-exist" so its time to challenge myself again. ( interestingly @Dana and I got backstage VIP entrances because of OSD 2016 and got the opportunity to meet + get a picture with her in person just before the keynote :))

I am looking forward to new challenges and new opportunities at USAA. I am joining here as the lead product manager and my offerings here will be internally focused to support the USAA platform (in contrast to external facing B2C offerings I worked at IBM). From an offering point it's interesting that their public facing offerings/services have a niche market and the users are called members (not clients/customers). They take user empathy very seriously ..they have once complete day of the new hire orientation dedicated to "understanding the lives of our military members. Looking forward to the new learnings and the opportunity to meet some amazing folks here as well.
