Closing the Memory Hole
I recently shared an article showing how multiple news networks were reading from the same script to paint conservative opinions that varied from the mainstream narrative as dangerous to democracy. That's only half the story.
The other half is the blatant attempts at censorship on many social media platforms. If we want to avoid George Orwell's famed 'memory hole' we're going to have to be willing to take action. I closed my Facebook account (and never joined Twitter). I use Parler and MeWe. So far, Linked-In seems to be less restrictive than other platforms, but it all begs the question: How far are we willing to go to avoid censorship?
The answer, form my perspective, is that we've got to vote with our digital feet. We've got to support platforms that support free speech. If you want to know what happens if we do nothing, read my Civil War series on Amazon:
