A Closer look at The Accelerator Roadmap: Stage Two
Bob Moore, CMC, The Effectiveness Coach?
Bob Moore guides business owners through The Nine Step Profit Accelerator Roadmap so they can accelerate their progress to time and financial freedom without overwhelm and burnout.
Step 4
Filling Key Positions with Fully Engaged Top Talent
In his best-selling book,?Good to Great,?Jim Collins creates a lasting and memorable metaphor by comparing a business to a bus and the leader as a bus driver. He emphasizes the importance of getting the right people on the bus, getting the right people in the right seats, getting the wrong people off the bus, and developing people into bigger seats.
Step 4 of the 9 step Accelerator Roadmap is about Talent Management which must begin by clearly defining the talent requirements of the job. We recommend a Five Step process that begins by benchmarking the job. This results in a Job Report which can produce a Gap Report when compared to individual talent reports of candidates.
Step 5
Building High Performing Cohesive Teams
In his book,?The Advantage,?Patrick Lencioni, best selling author of?The Five Dysfunctions of Team?says, "The singe greatest advantage any company can achieve is organizational health. Yet it is ignored by most leaders even though it is simple, free, and available to anyone who wants it."
Lencioni presents the following Four Disciplines Model.
Discipline 1: Build a Cohesive Leadership Team
Discipline 2: Create Clarity
Discipline 3: Overcommunicate Clarity
Discipline 4: Reinforce Clarity
Lencioni continues, "If an organization is led by a team that is not behaviorally unified, there is no chance that it will become healthy."
