‘Clockwork’ - Taransaud
Rafael Bernabeu García
Music composer & producer / Sound designer, editor & mixer
To produce a striking and high-quality brand film, both the images and the sound require equal consideration - and the result can be even more effective if there is a strong concept which ties the two together. The video for Taransaud relies crucially on an original piece of music. The challenge was to create a soundtrack that combines energy and finesse - mimicking the almost percussive work of those at the Taransaud factory which is sometimes dynamic and aggressive, but sometimes careful and meticulous.
We recorded a range of percussive sounds on barrels and other materials commonly found at the tonnellerie. Not an easy task however, as the barrels resonate and create a whole load of unwanted frequencies. Mixing this with other instruments and ambient sound taken during the filming at the factory would have been a nightmare, so each sound had to be sampled separately to leave more room for production and to give a better result.
And here's a sneak preview behind the scenes!
