Clive Emson Auctioneers, Britain’s largest independent regional land and property auctioneer, has celebrated its 30th anniversary by revealing impressive annual statistics for 2019.
The firm, founded by Clive Emson as a one-man band in 1989 just as a big recession was about to hit, has grown into a multi-centre operation employing more than 50 people
During 2019 the firm catalogued a total of 1,071 lots and achieved sales worth £150 million from eight rounds of regional sales, with a sales rate of 80 per cent.
And to top it all, founder Clive was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for services to vulnerable and disadvantaged young people.
Clive Emson Auctioneers Managing Director James Emson said: “There is no doubt that it has been a challenging year for everyone in the industry for a number of reasons.
“That said, we have done particularly well across the board and we are delighted to be entering our fourth decade of trading in good spirits and with great enthusiasm.
“Our longevity is down to my father’s foresight in setting up a unique business 30 years ago as well as our continued ethos of complete transparency, superb customer service and partnership working with property industry specialists.
“We look forward to welcoming back vendors and purchasers for first auction of 2020 in February and I’d like to take this opportunity of wishing everyone a safe and peaceful Christmas and New Year.”
Clive Emson Auctioneers reported sales in excess of £14.5 million as the December auction produced a series of Christmas crackers, achieving a sale rate of 80 per cent after cataloguing 109 lots.
During 2019 Clive Emson auctioneers and staff have also helped raise in the region of £200,000 for a number of charities and organisations through auctions and events across the south.
December auction highlights included:
