A personal selection of the prolific actor/director's ten best motion pictures.
In order of release:
For a Few Dollars More (1965) - full movie
Kelly's Heroes (1970)
Dirty Harry (1971)
High Plains Drifter (1973)
Thunderbolt & Lightfoot (1974)
The Eiger Sanction (1975)
The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976)
Escape from Alcatraz (1979)
Unforgiven (1992)
In the Line of Fire (1993)
Eastwood has also been involved with more left field projects over the years such as Bird, White Hunter Black Heart, various jazz documentaries, and his role in Vittoria De Sica's segment of the 1960s portmanteau curiosity The Witches.
Clint hasn't been immune from the odd 'wtf' moment; witness the particularly icky sex scene in The Mule, where the 88 year old director/star cavorts with a prostitutes.
Barf.
And his bone-headed speech at the 2012 RNC convention taking a pop at President Obama - which he now apparently regrets.
As a director and an actor, he's been guilty of some (very) misguided choices - witness Jersey Boys, Paint Your Wagon and Firefox.
Like Tony Hopkins, the talented Eastwood has also scored a few movies of his motion pictures as well:
Eastwood's neo-western Cry Havoc is released later this year.
