At THIS WAY UP we recognise the hard work and time that goes into clinical practice. Between providing quality, best-practice care to your patients, completing administrative tasks and documentation, as well as juggling professional development requirements,?we know your time is precious!
We are also living in a world of waitlists.?Often patients seeking support for their mental health are waiting weeks or months on a waitlist to speak with a mental health professional from the point of referral. By prescribing an online?THIS WAY UP treatment program?to patient(s), you are providing them with?evidence-based treatment while they wait for in-person psychological care.?This is also a great way to make the most of the limited time available in appointments discuss other complex healthcare needs.
Providing psycho-education to patients about their mental health is a core component of best-practice, however it is often difficult for patients to recall this information particularly when upset or distressed.?Research?has shown that patients may remember only a fifth of the information discussed with their health professional, with anywhere between 40-80% of the content discussed immediately forgotten following consultations.?
Prescribing a THIS WAY UP?program is a great way to address this issue.?Your patients?can re-read and digest core CBT skills outside of the consultation room, in their own time, and return to this when needed.?
