TIPS TO PREVENT CELL-PHONE RELATED HAND PAIN
According to the Pew Research Center , the average percentage of smartphone ownership across 18 advanced countries is 85%, with an additional 11% owning a mobile phone. The widespread use of cell phones requiring repetitive movements and awkward hand positions is leading to an increased incidence of hand pain, especially in the thumb and wrist. If your patients are experiencing pain due to cell phone usage, check out Today’s strategies to mitigate this pain, such as taking breaks and doing hand exercises.
PATIENTS PRIORITIZE MOBILITY
A?discrete choice experiment of 151 adult patients following operative treatment for lower extremity fractures finds patients prefer physical therapy treatment that prioritizes return to pre-injury mobility over cost and residual pain. These findings may be helpful when planning post-operative options intended to help increase patient compliance/participation.
